Does the SkyView function as a 'black box' flight data recorder? Knowing that it is all flight instruments and that there is some level of event recording, is there a short term 'loop' memory? Specifically a friend went down this weekend and had a SkyView panel. Can the events leading to the crash be extracted by NTSB?

Sorry to hear about the circumstances.

SkyView does record a tremendous amount of high fidelity data in a loop. The NTSB has experience accessing this data and Dynon assists them if needed.

Dynon, is there a way to enable/disable this? I am guessing it is enabled by default. How is it disabled if desired?

Data recording in SkyView cannot be turned off. It can be erased manually at any time however.

Section 26 of the install manual.
