Dual Touch Screen Failure just after software upgrade??

I have been on the road for past couple months. Getting ready to resume flying so I updated to new 16.3.2 software. (Dual HDx 10" system)

During the update process I noticed the com control panel screen kept popping up and I could not close it by touching the "X" or the return key, I could only close the screen by pushing the soft key button located below the "Exit" label.

After both screens were updated I was playing around and noticed the touch screen was acting funny so I ran touch screen test and failed on step 1. I did this several time and then tried the touch screen test on screen # 2, it failed before even getting to step 1.

The plane has been stored in my fully enclosed hangar with canopy cover on top so I do not think any water or other mishaps happened to the screen and I do not believe I would have dual touch screen failures at the same time.

Could this be software issue..... baffled

I would suspect the software is corrupted but thats only a guess. I assume you had only one screen at a time powered on while you did the update and all connected network devices were powered up. I have just carried out an update and it did not require any input at all.
Sounds like a call to support may be needed

Yikes... I have been updating my software with both screens powered up.....I did not know only one should be powered up at a time.

I wonder if I can try to reload the software?

I have tried to find the instruction to do one screen at a time but can’t find it but I am sure I saw it somewhere. I do know that when you update the databases you need both running so that they can synchronise the info on both screens.
I would imagine if the screens boot up ok you should be able to do the software update again.

edit. I have discovered what I took to mean do the screens one at a time on page 3-17 of the installation manual. I have chosen to only power one screen on at a time and update it. The first screen during the update goes around and updates all connected network devices. When I do the second screen it finds all the network devices have been updated and continues. So the answer is this procedure has worked ok for me but now not totally sure it’s necessary.

"Updating the Software on a SkyView display automatically updates all of the modules connected on the same SkyView network, except for other SkyView displays. Each display must be updated individually"

If it wants other screens to be powered off, it would be better if it were explicitly stated.

I don't think it matters to the update process, but I have seen users report repetitive errors if both are powered up with different software versions. That's probably where the practice of updating the screens separately comes from.
