Congratulations on releasing the DX15 which should be a winner. Before I order mine, I need to know whether the AC Adapter/Charger handles 220V 50 Hz for Europe. The spec sheet doesn't make any mention about this.
What specification should be for power supply to dx15? I have it in EU and need to charge battery with some other power supply.
Besides, on original power supply there is a remark that it gives 14vdc, but on the radio there is a note about 7,2vdc, additionally owners guide in the car adapter section says that power supply shouldn't be from range 10-30vdc - I guess this an error or missunderstanding.
What about polarity? + inside, - otside?
Regards.
First, please note that we do not have any certifications in Europe, so it may or may not be legal to use over there. The radio carries only an FCC certification.
The voltage into the radio should be from 10-20V, if we are talking about the voltage right into the jack on the radio. This is why the adapter we sell is 14V. Any voltage from 10-20V is allowed.
The vehicle adapters currently for sale are for 12V aircraft only. Connecting it to 28V aircraft will damage to the the radio. We hope to have a solution to this in the future.
7.2V is the voltage of the battery used by the radio, but you should never charge this yourself, you should always charge it by using the radio.
The polarity is printed on the adapter that comes with every radio and is + on the inside.
Thanks for a reply, I missunderstood the manual - voltage sholdn't be outside specified range.
I know about lack of certification for EU, I just use it as a scanner but maybe one day I will need to use its all powers
Have a nice day.
