Smaller and lighter than previous model. Other than footprint, my impression is that there is nothing new from the perspective of functionality and operations. You still need to purchase the SV-ADSB-472 Dual Band ADS-B Traffic and Weather Receiver. Am I missing anything?

Garmin have ADSB in and out in the same box. I can’t see why Dynon don’t do the same…….apart from forcing you to buy another bit of kit to receive.

Yes, Garmin does have ADSB in/out in some of their transponders. However, this feature comes at a considerable cost. $$$

Depending on your design / architecture / cost requirements, the "all in one box" product may not always be the best solution.

Too bad Dynon did not include satellite diversity in the new transponder. Canada (and those flying over/into Canada) eventually will require satellite-based ADS-B in most airspace.

I am not too worried, because I designed the huVVer-AVI-TBX control heads for the tailBeaconX that meets the Canadian requirements. Makerplane is my distributor. The pictures below are from the new touchscreen version… that also provides voice annunciations, if desired.

So, thank-you Dynon for keeping me in business!
