Just make sure that you make it removable. Mine broke off and was very costly and difficult to replace.

Yep. One way to do that is to keep the Al tubes coming out of the pitot itself straight. That way you can drop the whole thing straight down through the mount for complete removal.

I saw another builder's picture that showed the Al lines bent, precluding the straight down removal. I have already removed mine once for paint, etc.

21 years ago our aircraft had the tube mounted to the outboard inspection panel.

FYI & to help others - Ever since I've been doing installation work I've always done the same to other aircraft as it works well & makes for easy removal of the whole tube, mount & associated heater module (which just fits) assembly.
