Hi.
I just finished first testflight after mounting Dynon AP to my TL Sirius 3000. The setup is D100/D120/AP74 with garmin 695.
I started the test with roll servo. After som adjustment of sensitivity and bank angle it worked realy nice in both heading, track and nav mode.
The pitch servo test didt work well. I started flying level and stable before engaging AP in ALT mode. The aircraft stays level, but slowly starts to gain altitude above setpoint and wont pitch back down. When changing the altitude to +500ft, it pitches up, but dosent stop at target altitude.
If i change the target altitude -500ft the AP just holds current altitude and show trim up, even with power almost off.

I tried after the flight to do the servo calibration and test several times. And it passes. The movement is correct according to the test. But when i engage the AP in ALT mode, it still wont pitch down, just gradually pitch up, even when on the target. When engaging ALT mode on the AP74 the yellow alt target on the D100 turns solid yellow.

Any ideas? Seems like the controller is confused.

The photo is during a ground test.

Thanks for any help

It seems the ap is now working correct again. At least during ground test. It was most likely the prior firmware upgrade that was not done properly. The Efis D100 was stuck with the firmware version 5.5.0.249 while the rest of the components was 5. 6.1. 253.

After all components was successfully upgraded, it now seems to be working fine in Alt mode.

Will test in flight soon.

Hi. So the problem did not solve. The pitch servo still dont pitch down. With all parameters for pitch set to slow, it tends to stay a little longer at current altidue, but slowly starts to pitch up.
I have checked the shear screw, its in one piece.

If i set a lower setpoint for altitude, the servo seems all confused. The servo is running small steps, but no or just small movement on the arm. Even with the torque set to 100 and the servo arm disconnected. After a while it then sometimes starts pitching up.

Any ideas? During servo test, it works perfectly and rapid pitches nose down.

Sorry for the slow reply, it's taking some time to get things sorted out working remotely due to the Corona Virus. If the shear screw is truly OK, I suspect we will need to see the servo here to see what's up and get it repaired. I have replied to your support e-mail request for RMA information.

I am having the exact same problem. Even in smooth air it will flash "UP" even when the servo does not need to move, then it will slowly pitch up. Just received an OK the return the servo, but interesting that its not just me.
Long Ez, pitch servo.
