I recently purchased a RV7A with a Dynon D180 installed. I noticed shortly after purchasing that the RPM would intermittently go to 0, then come back within a few seconds. Wasn't too concerned. Ocassionally all EGTs would go to maximum then return to normal. Again, it was very brief and I knew they weren't valid readings. Yesterday, on a long cross country, all engine readings stopped responding for about 25 minutes shortly after takeoff from my destination. After about an hour of flight and refueling. RPM, CHT, EGT, oil pressure, fuel, etc. all stopped responding. Attitude, altitude, heading all work fine. I will say that it was an extremely hot day, about 97 OAT, and it could be coincidental but it seems I get these strange issues when it's very hot. Even the bezel on the dynon was burning hot to the touch. I thought maybe there was an intermittent connection but from what I can tell from the manual, everything connects directly to the back of the screen. Any suggestions on what I should look into would be greatly appreciated.
