Dynon EMS-D10 Re-booting in Flight

Trying to help a friend in France who is having problems with an EMS-D10 installed in an RV9a. The EMS was bought around 8 years ago but was just powered up for the first time a year or so ago when the plane was completed.

All the readings work fine but the unit intermittently powers down and then immediately re-starts with the blue Dynon startup screen - this can happen several times in succession and then be ok for a while and then the cycle re-starts. The problem seems to happen most commonly when the aircraft is being prepared for landing (power reduced, slowing down...) so it looks like an issue possibly linked to vibration level.

He has double checked the power supply & ground connections to the EMS-D10 and is sure that isn't the problem.

We enabled data logging and sent dumps to Dynon but they did not find anything unusual in the files just prior to the unit re-booting.

If there was a problem with one of the active sensors (carb temp or manifold pressure) whereby the +ve supply wire to the sensor was intermittently shorted to ground (maybe internally to the sensor or in the wiring), would this cause the unit to re-boot ? Is the problem most likely to be within the EMS unit itself or the installation ?

Any other thoughts gratefully received !

Thanks

Yeah, if power-supplying pins end up grounding, that can end up causing issues. Assuming you don't find anything there, then we'd probably need to take a look at the unit.
