Dynon SV-Comm - Same radio?

Is the Dynon SV-Comm sold today the same radio as the one sold years ago? I remember many problems with the original version and knew several people who replaced them with better radios such as Garmin.

I'm working on a homebuit right now and I really like the user interface on the SV-Comm... I don't want to purchase the same old problematic radio.

Is the radio the same? Or has Dynon improved it since it's original release?

Thanks!

Dynon shifted to the very nice Trig radio a few years ago. I’m running it now, and will put it in the new build as well. I have flown with the Garmin GTR 200 and found it to be a distant second to the Dynon radio.

Side note - the Dynon SkyView XPDR is also made by Trig.

Thanks Carl for the detailed reply.

Can I get the comm and transponder through a Trig dealer? Or since it is branded Dynon, do I need to go through a Dynon dealer?
Thanks,
Glenn

Via Dynon or a Dynon dealer (ACS, Stein, etc.). The software to integrate the radio and XPDR is SkyView.

For clarification of the radio nomenclature, I'll add this:

The SV-COM-C25 is an integrated VHF Com Radio consisting of two modules, the SV-COM-PANEL and the SV-COM-425 transceiver.

The SV-COM-X25 is an integrated VHF Com Radio consisting of two modules, the SV-COM-PANEL and the SV-COM-T25 transceiver.

The SV-COM-X25 replaced the SV-COM-C25 in late 2019. The SV-COM-425 transceiver was the old Dynon design and the SV-COM-T25 transceiver is the current Trig-derived version.
