I tried to update my map data from Seattle Avionics and both of my thumb drives for my HDX screens say that data can't be saved to them because they are read only. I've tried to erase and reformat them but it won't let me because they are read only. Does anyone know how to change this so I can update my maps? Thanks

Select the drive on your computer, right mouse-click > Properties > deselect Read-Only (attributes). Click Ok. Be sure to select all files and sub-folders, if prompted.

Yeah, when this happened to mine last year, that didn't work. Whatever SA did to it, it hosed it up permanently.

Must be a thumb drive virus going around....one of my nice Dynon thumb drives just became read only. I tried following multiple tips on how to correct it but no luck in fixing it?

More info needed. What were you doing prior to this with that drive? Downloading Dynon files, using SA DataManager, etc.? When did this happen? Are the files visible when the drive is in the USB port on your computer?

I was using SA DATA manager. Files are visible when I connect to Mac or PC but am unable to change thumb drive from read only to read\write. I have tried to change from read only on both Mac & PC. Would welcome any tips\ideas
