Not being ashamed to conduct flagrant plagiarism, I was wondering if anyone out there would be kind enough to share their wiring diagram for their connections from the SkyView to some of the more popular Garmin products?

My panel has the two 10" SkyView panels, as well as an all-Garmin radio stack that includes:

GMA 240 audio panel
GNS 430W nav/com/gps
SL-40 second com
GTX 327 transponder

Any help would be appreciated!!

You have the exact same setup as I do. E-mail me direct at
marchudson at verizon.net and when I get home on Sunday,
I'll send you a copy of my wiring diagram.

Hope this helps

not sure if anyone has used the Faststack system but I have installed it along with the garmin stack, 10" and 7" skyview, the system is great mostly plug and play. Saved me hours and hours of wiring.

cheers

I have used the Approach Fast Stack System for four panel upgrades. It truly is a plug and play system. If I did not have it, I would not/could not upgrade my panel(s).

I am about to add another GNS-430 to my panel, I would not attempt unless I had the Approach system.

Highly recommend the system!!  Tim

Everything seems to work with my 430w to skyview setup except for the vertical GS needle on the HSI. I am somewhat certain that my wiring to the 429 module is correct because we worked really hard to get that right.
I am however not certain if the 430 adjustments in the
Garmin 430 set up pages are correct. I have all the information from the WIKI page titled garmin 430/530. There are 4 dotted line boxes on that page. I have used that information to set up the Garmin, but the glide slope needle does not test out on the startup of the garmin.
My brain cannot seem to figure out if I have my settings correct or if I have a wiring error in the module to garmin connections.

I am also testing my 430 to skyview conections and found that the 430 start up test will only drive the HSI if my nav source on the skyview is set to GPS 1. If I try to use Nav 1 nothing happens. I also have a sl30 as nav 2 and when you go into the SL30 set up menu to test all of the functions such as to/from, flags ect It dosent drive the skyview HSI except for the to/from. I have a D10A in parelell and it works fine showing flags , to/from VDI etc

johnS: check whether VNAV "enable labels" is activated on the Main ARINC 429 Page.

On the 430, that's normal. Only the GPS side drives the ARINC output. Only the analog output is driven by the NAV test pages in the setup mode. To check that you're getting data, if you don't have a VOR - see if the frequency is correct on the NAV X NAVSRC selection that corresponds to the 430's NAV mode.
