On my RV-7 I have an EFIS D10 and a Gps Garmin 496 and I want to install a two axes autopilot. I read on an old post that Dynon developed an upgrade program to turn a D10 into a D10A at $350. Can you tell me if this upgrade will include the autopilot function or if I need to exchange the old D10 with the new D10A?

The EFIS-D10 is not compatible with the Dynon AP. An EFIS-D10 can be upgraded to an EFIS-D10A (which is compatible with the Dynon AP). Contact Dynon Technical Support for details.

We ran that upgrade program for about a decade, until we actually ran out of the ability to upgrade the units cost effectively. Most EFIS-D10s that were originally sold have actually been upgraded. But for those that are still out there, we'll take it on trade-in and give you a 50% discount towards and EFIS-D6 (also not AP capable) or and EFIS-D10A (which is).
