Aircraft has been parked up for about ten weeks. When started EFIS screen came up very dark, can just be read in hanger, certainly not in daylight. Have adjusted to max brightness. Previous to park up screen was bright and very readable in bright daylight.
Can this be fixed without returning to the manufacturer?

If it's cold out, it can take a few minutes for the backlight to acheive full brightness. Recent firmware is better about getting them up to brightness quickly, so update to the latest if you have an older EFIS.

Also, if you're only using the internal battery to power the unit up, it will be dimmer if the battery is significantly discharged. So get it on ship's power to test that out if that's how you were running it.

Thanks, but we are in Far North Queensland, USA Lat 17°S and the day temp is currently always 30°C plus, dropping to only 25°C ish overnight; so no its not a cold effect.

EFIS fitted by factory (Jabiru 230c) so I don't think the internal battery option was fitted. So running on planes battery - engine running 14.5 volts showing on bus.

Looks like it is a return to base job then?

If a firmware update, or waiting a few minutes doesn't fix things, then yes, we may need to take a look at the unit. support@dynonavionics.com or 425-402-0433 for technical support to get a return authorization.
