EFIS-D10A firmware update, EDC not detected

I updated my EFIS-D10A to 5.5 firmware this morning...it's wired to an EDC-D10A which works properly. EFIS heading wanders when a magnet is moved around the EDC and the EFIS OAT responds when the EDC OAT probe is warmed. When I used the support utility to detect the firmware (5.4) I got an "EDC not detected" warning but the utility correctly read the EFIS firmware and serial number. I went ahead with the upload thinking it might be an EDC firmware mismatch - the EFIS firmware updated as expected but I still get an "EDC not detected" message. Anyone got any ideas on how to resolve this?

OBTW, my DSAB bus is (still) non-functional, the EFIS can't see my EMS-10A with any number of different wiring harnesses, could this be related? I was hoping maybe a firmware mismatch EFIS-to-EDC was causing it but I can't tell.

Thanks in advance,

Yes, I updated the EMS and EFIS to v5.5 this morning. Both were v5.4 prior to that.

Have you tried to update the EDC with the EMS disconnected ?  If  that works then I'd suggest you do have a wiring issue somewhere - maybe a pin is not seating  (clicked) home fully in the connector - twas just a thought  :)

We've seen the EDC not being seen by the support program before, though not with enough frequency to be able to give you a root cause. When you do a DSAB configure and then a status, do you see the EDC there? How about the EMS?

DSAB configure/status on the EFIS shows only the EFIS. No EMS or EDC. A looong time ago the bus picked up the EFIS and the EMS using same wiring harness. Since it stopped it has not picked up the EMS with any of three harnesses that have been wrung out extensively.

I spoke w/ tech support today, I'll be sending the lot in for checkout/service when I get to a convenient point in my rebuild.
