I have had my D10A for sometime now but am just getting around to installing. It has developed a noise that it has never had before. It occurs about 3 seconds after power up at the time when the screen goes from "Dynon" to the display. It never makes the noise when I power up with the internal battery

Does the noise keep going or is it just a second or so long?

If it's just a brief noise, this probably happened after you updated the software. It's a modification we made to the backlight power to help it start faster in cold weather. It's perfectly normal and isn't a problem. Most customers never hear this noise over the roar of the big spinny thing up front (or out back if you like the smell of epoxy).

If the noise is constant, then that could be a problem.
