What would cause the EFIS fuse to blow?
Last Saturday shortly after take off the EFIS fuse blew, got a “Aircraft Power Loss” message and was able to switch to the B/U battery. Returned to airport and landed. About 10 minutes later the B/U battery “died”. TIA Charlie

Sounds like you have a short to ground that quickly bled the BU battery as well. Ring power wires to ground to find the culprit.

Thank you for the information. Will get some help in looking into this.

A nearly dead standby battery to the SkyView EFIS can cause the 5amp fuse to blow as the unit attempts to load the faulty battery with current.
Dynon will not acknowledge this, but do your own search on vansairforce.net and other web sites.
Our solution was to replace the old standby battery with a new one ($175), and increase the fuse amperage to 7.5 amps.
No problems since then.
A SOLID crew of a pending failure is the ! symbol next to the GPS time on the EFIS. If you see that, you have backup battery issues.
