EGT Morning Sickness

RV-12 with D180 One of my EGT indications likes to max out before start-up and for a minute or two after. Then it settles down. Does this sound like an impending failure of the probe? I have already re-seated the connections.

It seems like this might be temperature-related as it goes good as soon as the engine compartment warms up. 440 hours on this unit.

Yeah, the heat is changing something, so at some point you'll probably want to replace that probe, given you've checked that connection.
