EGT probes

Good morning all, I am installing EGTs into my Velocity Subaru conversion and am wondering if the EGT cables can be terminated at the firewall via a terminal block and then have extensions go from the block to the EMS D25 pin connector thus giving a convenient means of disconnection when necessary. Of course the extension wire will be of the appropriate tye but am wondering if the lug mounting will give in-accurate results.

I've used Dsub connectors with the crimped pins & they worked ok, terminal block would be more prone to inaccurate readings IMO.

The issue with a thermocouple going through non-thermocouple wire is only if the non-thermocouple wire part has a temperature change across it . So if you just go into a terminal block and right out, there is unlikely to be any temp across the terminal bock so you're OK. If you put a connector through the firewall, that can be an issue due to the dramatic temp change from outside to inside.
