I have problem with the EMS shutting down and switch on again frequently. EMS is connected to the Dynon EFIS via DSAB. I have checked all connections for lose cables but all looks ok.
Could it be a problem internly the EMS?

Thanks
Borge :)

It's either power not getting to the EMS, or intermittently, or there could be something intermittent inside, but, I'd have to say that that's really rare, in our experience. Do any of the readings on the display do anything "bad" right before it shuts down? Will it do it on the ground when there's no movemement from flying and/or engine vibration?

EMS D 120 who goes out an comes back on again.

Thanks for your quick reply, the problem arises when I give full throttle on the engine so my first thought was loose wires. EMS is connected on the same switch / protection system as EFIS and GPS but no problem with them, I have checked Harness to EMS and can not find anything wrong.
My thought was why if you had probem with the EMS instrument itself?

There no "known problem" of that sort. I'd say it's still possibly a loose/intermittent connection somewhere. One place to investigate is the D-sub connector itself. Check and make sure that all of the pins are "locked" into place. If you look at the connector fact on the harness side, make sure that neither the power or the ground pin looks like it's recessed more than the others.

I forgot to mention that I have problem with one of EGT sensors, it shows abnormal values [ch8203][ch8203]for a while then go back to normal.
Can this interfere and courcse screen to black out and return to normal?

All I can think of is:

> The voltage power supply is going outside limits, causing the device's protection to operate (guessing here as I dont know the inner workings of the Dynon, but I did have this problem myself at engine start-up).

Or maybe
> Do you have the P-leads connected to the Dynon for tacho measurements? Perhaps there is a high current surge down those wires which is causing the Dynon to shut down to protect itself? (again, totally guessing).

The tachometer are connected to the magneto so no connection to the EMS. :)

New information on this issue, the flashing screen always starting after + - 30 min. flight.
I evidence this to be something with the instrument itself.

Opinions on this?

Are you saying that it happens in the air after you've already been flying for 30 minutes? In any case, this isn't normal. Get in touch with our technical support staff directly at 425-402-0433 or support at dynonavionics dot com.
