EMS EGT/CHT harness cable lengths

Hi, I received the EGT/CHT, 6 cylinder, 6' long harness for use with my SV-EMS-220. I realize I should not shorten the individual EGT and CHT probe leads as I understand these are calibrated lengths, but is it OK to shorten the brown 6 foot harness leads to match my installation? Thanks for providing such valuable info on this site. It's a great resource for SkyView system owners. //Dave

You can shorten thermocouples with no issues (the wiring harness or probe side). Thermocouples only have a calibrated length when hooked to some mechanical gauges.

Is this still ok to shorten the probe side wires(with the metal shielding)? I’m having issues with them being so long and stumbled on this post from 2010 and want to know if this is still applicable to the probes we get in 2018.
