EMS Leaning Technique

Can anyone direct me to a document that describes the best and safest technique for Leaning my Lycoming 0-360 using the Dynon EMS display and EGT information.

Although the manual covers the use of the leaning display it does not really cover the best technique to use.

Any help appreciated. Thanks, Nic

I recommend that you read the following article on AvWeb and then follow up with the other articles by John Deakin titled "Where should I run my engine?" parts 1 thru 4.

http://www.avweb.com/news/columns/182084-1.html

These articles are very good at explaining the leaning process and what you are looking for in your engine monitor.

Mel, An excellent series of articles - I have read all of them today and am gaining a better understanding. There are a number of techniques to investigate, including leaning in the climb, descent on finals at lower rpm (prop in coarse) and also dropping rpm but not power after take-off.  All very useful (although somewhat against my earlier training). ! I will be setting the Dynon alarms to monitor the criteria that John Deakin suggests.
Cheers, Nic
