Erroneous temperature readings on OAT probe

I recently received an OAT probe purchased from Aircraft Spruce & Specialty part no. 10-01823. I have installed it to my Dynon EFIS D100 purchased from Dynon Avionics in December 2008. Have selected type 2 on Dynon. Am not able to decrease temperature sufficiently in setup to calibrate OAT probe to ambient temperature. The TAS appears to be correct whilst flying but temperature and altitude are out. Is there an OAT problem or am I not calibrating correctly??

What temperature are you seeing on the ground? And what would be correct?

Also take two quick resistance measurements: between the red and yellow wires, and between the yellow and blue wires.

Temperature reading on Dynon for OAT probe is 53 degrees C. Actual ambient temperature in hangar is 25 degrees C. Measurement between Yellow and Red wires is 30Kohms and between Yellow and blue in the Megohms (inconsistent). I measured from the D connector.

It sounds like we'll need to issue a return authorization for that probe. Give technical support a call at 425-402-0433 or an email at support@dynonavionics.com
