It seems that with V16 that there are some additional features available for autopilot tuning. Also I do not know what the below listed values (other than sensitivity) really means and the Dynon Installation Manual just barely explains them and what they do. Can someone who is really up to speed on this stuff PLEASE produce an Idiots Guide to Dynon autopilot tuning? The book only explains the first three on the list but if someone can please explain farther (feel free to use small and understandable words).

SENSITIVITY

PITCH GAIN

ALTITUDE GAIN

PULL RATE

VSI GAIN

G ERROR GAIN

G ERROR LIMIT

THANKS!!!

Don thanks for the link.

Would it be possible to add examples of what happens when a parameter is changed?

So one description is "How much to change heading as the needle closes in on centered" I wish I could understand what it is saying but not not so much...if there was an example added like "if the tracking of the CD is chasing the needle left and right after it has captured the localizer then increase..."

"Sets a multiplier between the command to the aileron and the command to the servo"

I have no idea what this means. Would it be possible to add some additional words to convert the "raw" technical description and cook it up to make it a more "baked" technical description?

Or, just give the control laws and I can go from there. :) Something, anything, though...please.

Don Jones or someone at Dynon...or ANYONE in the collective,

Can you PLEASE try to provide some more understandable descriptions of the autopilot tuning parameters? I am just about to get back flying and I want to do some autopilot tuning.

THANKS

From a post last year by another member that, IMO, greatly simplifies the definitions. You'll still follow the AP tuning guide, which we all know needs to be updated with the new settings.

Sensitivity = Correction Accuracy
Gain = Aggressiveness
