Today I was checking the continuity of the 25 pin female connector for the harness for my D-180. Good thing that I did as I had one pin that was not seated in the connector. Also there was one yellow with green stripe wire that I could not find a discreption of or pin connection for. plus there is a white with black stripe wire that comes out of the bundle on the connector but is not attached to a pin.

What are these for and what do I do with them?

The yellow w/green stripe is one of the serial ports that you can use to hook to a GPS or an SL-30 if you want data for the HSI or autopilot. It is shown on page 2-5 of the D180 install guide and mentioned on 4-6, but there is a lot of data there to digest!

The white/black is a ground for the shield on the EDC cable. We generally tell people to leave it disconnected, but you can ground it if you wish.

Having read the info on this thread, there is a similar yellow/green wire on my SteinAir-made harness for the D100 linked with the white wire in pin 22. Is this the same function?

Thank you,

Scott
