Is there any place I can see a visual comparison of these 2 options?

I'm having trouble visualizing for the US installs what extra info Jeppesen brings to the SKYVIEW.

We see no point in using Jeppesen in the USA. You get less data, not more. No airport remarks, less runway data, etc. The "free" data we use comes straight from the FAA so it's reliable.

The FAA is very interested in any errors you find in their data. If you find anything, please let us know and we can report it to them and get it fixed ASAP.

BTW, where do people think Jeppesen gets *their* data from? I'm pretty sure they don't have their own teams that go out and survey airports and obstructions and things :)

Given that the Jeppesen data has less info then the FAA data in the USA it's possible they use their own sources for the USA as well as the rest of the world.

That would be an enormous task. Not to mention that it opens up a whole new can of liability worms (versus using FAA data which, if its wrong, they can point to the FAA).

They're probably using the the ARINC 424 formatted database.
