What is the gold circle with an up arrow and the word "fail" on the lower right of my map page?

After checking, neither SV display has anything on its serial ports except the ADS-B box. No traffic device. 5.0 is running. SO what is that gold circle with an up arrow that says "fail"??

There might be a slight display bug here, but first a question: Is the SV-ADSB-470 connected and reported as online in the ADS-B status menu?

The ADS-B is working well. Receiving data and making it available on both SVs. I can see weather radar for the whole country.

I don't specifically know if it is reported as online in the status menu.

So if you don't have an SV-XPNDR-26X transponder, you shouldn't see any traffic from the SV-ADSB-470, because SkyView requires the transponder to be there to serve as the "out" half of the ADS-B traffic system. So in your case, you shouldn't see the traffic fail message, but just an absence of traffic information. It looks like there may be a bug in the software that's causing the traffic fail annunciation to be erroneously displayed.

I am seeing the same traffic receiver status with a red "X" and red "Fail". I have the SV-XPNDR-261 transponder and SV-ADSB-470 installed. On the transponder, I'm seeing the orange "R" intermittently indicating that I'm replying to interrogations. On the ADSB, the red light is flashing fast and the display is "NO SIGNAL" as I'm on the ground. I'm running 5.1 and all the post installation checks are good. Do I have a problem or can I build on? I searched the installation and operation manuals and couldn't find any reference to "Fail" as one of the possible states of the traffic receiver status.

I think you may have called our tech support staff Larry? If so, I think we're already working with you.

If not, is TRANSPONDER SETUP > TIS TRAFFIC set to on?

Are both the ADS-B and transponder showing up on both displays (if you have two), and all of the serial ports set identically? If you have two displays, do they both look like this?

Oh, and has the transponder software been updated? If the transponder status menu has a yellow line item, then it hasn't been.

I just installed my ADS-B box (no Dynon xponder). Works great, but I have the fail icon, as well.

I'm working with Tech Support on the problem and have sent them my downloaded settings file. I'll update here with what they find.

Worked with Dynon engineer on the phone last night and he was able to reproduce the "FAIL" icon on the traffic receiver status. I think they're still working on the problem but we were able to get "ADS-B PARTIAL" by setting TRANSPONDER SETUP>AUTO ALT/GND to NONE and then on the main menu XPNDR button selecting ALT. If TRANSPONDER SETUP>AUTO ALT/GND is set to AUTOMATIC (AIR DATA), I still get "FAIL" even if the XPNDR button is selected ALT.

Great to work with a company that values its customers and products enough to have a senior engineer call and work on a problem for 30 minutes. :)
