I so so so miss this feature from Garmin Pilot (i.e. Runway Extension Lines for the destination airport). Having recently replaced my panel with 2 - SkyView 10" Touch Displays, the lack of runway extension lines on the map screen makes me wish I would have gone with just one SkyView display and used a Garmin Pilot setup as my other screen. See attached picture for specifics of the feature on Garmin Pilot.
Any chance this feature is in the works for the SkyView? If there is no chance this feature will be implemented in the next 12 to 18 months, I'm seriously considering selling one of my SkyView 10" Displays and using an iPad or similar with Garmin Pilot for my Navigation.
FWIW, I find the extension lines provide quick/clear situational awareness. In addition, on the SkyView map display with traffic enabled, the destination airport often 'disappears' as it covered with local traffic, etc. Ultimately though, this feature makes me a better pilot as I'm 100% confident/have full situational awareness when landing. No second guessing, cross-referencing headings to make sure I'm not doing something stupid, etc.
In the IT world, there are two things I can say with 100% confidence. One is a bit old now though... Once you go flat (screen), you never go back. Once you go solid state, you never go back.
I only mention this because once you have the joy of using extended runways, you never go back!
