I have a 10" Skyview, single ADAHRS, Dynon COM, Dynon SV-XPDR-261, SV-ADSB-472, ARINC-429 Adapter, and a Garmin GPS-175 Navigator.

I have two question/issues:

1) When programming the Skyview with a flight plan and a final destination (the last waypoint, obviously), the MAP Info list will show the DEST waypoint. However, when taking a flight plan from the GPS-175, the DEST waypoint will NOT show up - I just get a "---" indication. In order to get the DEST waypoint to show up, I have to input the flightplan into the Skyview, switch the flightplan source to Skyview, see the DEST waypoint show up, and then switch back to the GPS-175, at which point the DEST waypoint from the GPS-175 WILL show up in the MAP Info list. If I don't have a flightplan in the Skyview, just the GPS-175, then switching back and forth does NOT cause the DEST waypoint from the GPS-175 to show up. This seems like a bug to me.

2) As a corollary to #1, the VSR (Vertical Speed Required) caret in the VS tape and MAP Info item will ONLY show up if using the Skyview Flightplan. Even if the Flight Plan in Skyview and the GPS-1754 are identical, and I've gotten the DEST waypoint to show up in the Info list when using the GPS-175 Flight Plan, the VSR caret in the VS tape and the VSR number in the MAP Info list will NOT show up if I'm using the GPS-175 as the Flight Plan Source. Again, this seems like a bug to me.

How do I report these as bugs, and how do I track when they will be fixed?

Thanks.

Not sure with the GPS-175. With the GTN650, just set the HSI and flightplan source as GTN650, enter flight plan there, and use the GTN visual approach for vertical guidance. The other choice is to set everything to Skyview and use its features, but since I may need to do some IFR, I want to have habit of doing everything with GTN so I don't have to think which one I am using or switch between them.
It doesn't sound like you have a bug, but are trying to use both systems at same time, which just doubles your effort without any benefit.

You're misunderstanding what I'm describing. I'm not trying to use both systems "at the same time", which isn't possible. I'm indicating when the DEST waypoint shows up, and when it doesn't, and when the VSR works, and when it doesn't. When I ONLY use the GSP-175 as the Flight Plan Source, without first inputting the exact same flight plan into the Skyview (which shouldn't be necessary to use the GSP-175), the DEST waypoint does not show up in the MAP Info list (I just get "---") and even after I can convince the Skyview to display the DEST waypoint by switching to the Skyview as the Flight Plan Source and then back again to the GPS-175, the VSR will NOT work. The VSR will ONLY work if I use the Skyview as the FPS.

So both issues are real. They MIGHT be an issue with the way I'm using the system, but I don't think so. There is no reason that I should have to input anything into the SV FPS in order to get everything to work correctly when using the GPS-175 as the FPS.

One of the improvements I have requested does address you issue. If you were to put your flight plan into the GPS 175 and then go to the flight plan page on the Dynon you would see all the points, directions and distances. T, J, V routes entered will show as each individual point even though you only had to enter the route name and end points. The feature I would like is to have the ability to copy this information from the GPS 175 tab to the currently blank Skyview tab on the flight plan page. My thought is to use the Skyview as the HSI source with all timing and VSR/VNAV calculations being accurate. If contingency planning were required (new or different routing or alternate) due to either weather or ATC, I could quickly build the revised routing on the GPS 175 to get the routing needed since it has the luxury of SIDs, STARs and airway routing. Once satisfied with the new route, I would use the requested Copy Route feature to copy the GPS 175 flight plan to the Skyview flight plan tab.

I have sent the request to Dynon Support and posted it here under a Wishlist thread but have not heard from Dynon about any plan to incorporate the change into the Dynon firmware. You can copy flight plans from a certified navigator to other devices but usually cannot send routes to them so the route needs to come from the GPS 175 to the Skyview. You might try sending along a request. Dynon has been very good in responding to customer requests for features when shown a need in the past.

You are right, we are not communicating. My GTN650 flight plan shows up in full on my Skyview as the flight plan, and any time I choose a visual approach on the 650 it drives the HSI needles properly. Why your 175 doesn't do that is a mystery...perhaps something in the ARINC communications.
I agree, you should not need to input anything to the Skyview flight plan unless you are trying to use a feature that the Garmin doesn't have.

Glad I read your question, I also have Garmin 175 and had not figured out why I never got the "Dest" or VSR! I thought it was something I was doing wrong. I will at least try the HDx Flight plan method to populate "Dest"
