Hi

A suggestion for the FlightDek D180
Would it be possible to put an alert when speed is exceeding the speed limit with flaps extended.

Assuming that a flap sensor is connected to the EMS and that the EFIS part of the D180  knows the speed limit , it seems to me that  this should be possible .

Am I wrong ?

This is possible and we'll add it to the list of requested features, but we aren't promising that it will be done.

I have asked about this too, it would seem simple to do, but the resources in any box is finite. So who knows if it will become reality.

I wish it would, one less thing for me to build in!

I actually developed a flaps extended alarm using the D10A. It sniffs the serial output and uses a limit switch on the flaps to generate an audio alarm when greater than Vfe. I've been flying with it for a couple of years.

It was never taken to market because the proper place to do this is in one of the Dynon units. It just needs the flap position input or a limit switch input.

Once a flap position/limit input is available, it will also allow the AoA indicator to have an improved function.

Thanks, Vern Little

Hi

Thanks for this information.
Is it possible to have more detail about your system . Or is it too complex to be done by a non expert (in electronics )
