Flaps Overspeed warning on G forces

I'm having a weird issue that started recently. My flaps are on a potentiometer, with 0°, 75°, and a few in between calibrated, and flaps overspeed setting set to 110knots. That part in normal operation works fine, warning me if I forget to put the flaps up after takeoff, and not warning if below 110.

The weird thing is that when I fly through turbulence, if I get a hard bump at higher speed I get a "Flaps Overspeed" warning even though flaps are up. It doesn't happen because of speed, but because of G's. Any idea what may be causing that?

You need to adjust the connection between the potentiometer and the flap torque tube or wherever it's connected mechanically. The bumps are causing enough movement on the potentiometer arm that it's thinking flaps are deployed somewhat causing the alert because your over the set flap extend speed.

How do you set the flag\audio warning for Gear Overspeed. I could not find it so I have mine call out "Gear Overspeed" when flaps are extended. (I have fixed gear aircraft but am using that audio warning)

Without any 'sensor' involved you can't do that, unlike Flap Overspeed which has a sensor (potentiometer) that gives a position change (depending on configuration) which then enables the 'Overspeed' warning.

I have the flap sensor, but could not find the "Flap Overspeed" audio selection so I used "Gear Overspeed" instead, so now when my flaps are deployed > 95 Kt, I get "Gear Overspeed" but would like to change it to "Flap Overspeed" but I could not find that in the config menu? Can you tell me where in the menu structure you found it?

Thx

I was thinking that was the problem as I hit post. I manually edited the voltage for "closed" position and that seems to have fixed the issue.

The Flaps Overspeed audio annunciation selection can be found in SYSTEM SETUP > AUDIO SETUP > FLAPS OVERSPEED menu. There are multiple selections available in the AUDIO SETUP menu, requiring you scroll down quite a bit to find it.
