Flight DEK D-180 airspeed failure

I have a D-180 and D-10a installed in my recently purchased RV-8. When flying the other day after about 45 minutes of flying and following a touch and go I looked at the D-180 and the airspeed was 000. The D-10a airspeed seemed to be working fine. Not sure exactly where to start troubleshooting any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mark

This one should be pretty easy. It's either inside the D180 or in your pitot -static system. The easiest way to test this is to unhook the D180 from the pitot line on the back, and place your finger over the port where the pitot hooked. If you seal this off and press, you should be able to get over 100MPH pretty easily.

If you can do that, the problem is in the plane. If you can't get any airspeed, then the D180 has an issue.

Is the altitude on the D180 reading correctly?

Another question, after I remove the pitot line from the back and cover do I need to press something? If I just plug the hole the IAS should not change correct?

The altitude on both the D-180 and the D-10a work normally. I have noticed that the D-10a IAS appears to be indicating about 10-15 mph slower that actual IAS, before the D-180 airspeed quit they both agreed and were accurate.

You want to cover it and press with your finger. Pressing will build up pressure and you should be able to get 100+ MPH easily.
