After I import a flight plan into SkyView, can I replace the USB stick with a different USB that doesn't have the original flight plan and not loose the flight plan from the SkyView system? I have looked in the manual and can't find the answer to this.

Once you import a flight plan into the SkyView display, you can remove the USB flash drive and the flight plan will remain IN the SkyView display.

Any chance of bringing back the flightplan that used to put the HSI to the next waypoint automatically once importing?
Currently we need to D-> to first waypoint, after importing the flightplan which seems like an unnecessary additional step. Maybe an option in "setup" to chose which one the pilot would like to use?
Thx!

Ok, THANKS. Now another related question. I have a Garmin 430W connected via the ARINC 429 module and the flight plan from the 430W gets displayed on SkyView just fine. BUT if I create a flight plan on the SkyView, it won't let me display it instead of the G430W flight plan. No matter what I do it always reverts to the G430W flight plan. What am I doing wrong and/or where in the manual is this covered?

Check Pilot User Guide rev T page 7-45 and 7-46. Is this what you are looking for? It shows how to switch between Skyview flight plans and Garmin flight plans being displayed.

The option is a bit tricky to find. Literally, for non-touch displays, there is only 1 place to switch the active flight plan, and it's buried in the menus and behind another tab switch. IE I think you have to tab over to the 430W, then see the option to switch. To me it seems too well hidden and not obvious enough.

OTOH with touch, it's a bit easier since there is a touch-only info field button to toggle the flight plan.

UIs are hard to describe with words. A lot easier to just show.

Bob M is correct - switching between SkyView's Flight Plan and the "IFR GPS" Flight Plan is covered in the SkyView Pilot's User Guide - directly on Page 7-47 (Revision T):

Displaying Flight Plans from External Navigation Devices on the Map
When a compatible external GPS navigator is installed, press MAP > FPL to open the Flight Plan window and menu. The currently active Flight Plan is displayed. Move the joystick left or right to display any available flight plan sources in the window. The flight plan currently being displayed on the Map is designated with two arrows that point at the name: >SKYVIEW< or >IFR GPS<. To display the flight plan on SkyView’s moving map press the FPL MENU button, and select “SHOW [GPS NAME] FPL ON MAP” (where [GPS NAME] is the display name you’ve assigned your external navigator) . Note that changing the Flight Plan source on the Map page does not change the HSI source on the PFD. This allows your autopilot and other primary navigation activities be uninterrupted by the changes you make to the flight plan display on the
map.

The button pushes to get to that point are:

MAP > FPL > FPL MENU > and on the bottom of that menu should be the selection of which flight plan is currently being display will be shown.

Once you import a flight plan into the SkyView display, you can remove the USB flash drive and the flight plan will remain IN the SkyView display.

I think this is a really important thing which should be highlighted in the User's Manual in several places, as it can be VERY confusing...one could have a flight plan *displayed* that the HSI is NOT following, and the only indication would be the HSI/BRG indicators on the PFD showing a different source.

It'd be pretty simple, I think, to get in a world of trouble *thinking* that the HSI is using the flight plan...and perhaps even worse would be if the autopilot was on and in NAV mode...

Just a point of discussion. It's a very powerful system, but all those configuration options can cause issues if not properly understood...
