I,m rather computer challenged and would like to know from the experts.

Can you download the skyview terrain data onto the D180 ?

No, you can not do that. The D180 can not display any terrain, synthetic vision, or mapping. The processor inside is not fast enough to do those functions.

So what will it take to upgrade to the Skyview system and at what cost?

All the costs are elsewhere on this web page.

I fly my RV-4 with a D180 and a Garmin 496. Awesome set up and I get XM radio and weather too!! Something else to consider.....

We will give you 1/2 of the retail value of your D180, which is $1600 or $1700 if you have a bright screen.

A basic 7" SkyView with EMS is $4500. All your EMS senders and harnesses are compatible and plug right in. So you are looking at about $3000 to change to SkyView. The screens are not plug in compatible so you'll need to do a bit of re-wiring, and they are also a touch larger than current D100 products.
