Hi All,
Have been doing ground runs of my Jabiru and all is well except for the tach. The tach, as recommended is pulled from the one of the alternator wires through a 1 amp fuse.
This work wonderfully except for the range from about 1900 to 2400 where it goes nuts and displays 3700+ RPM and generally causes me confusion. After about 2400 it seems to break out and read straight again right through to WOT.
It is a little confusing because the there is no resistor involved here - it is straight into the FlightDEK, so it doesn't feel like it would be able to be taken out by noise or anything so petty.
If tapping the alternator is no longer cool, I can always look for a way to put a hall sensor on or something like that, but wanted to stay with the recommended approach if reasonable.
Cheers,
YtC
