What font sizes were you hoping to change? We generally can't allow font size changes arbitrarily in the system since lots of things take up fixed space and making them bigger means other things need to move. But we can look at whatever you were hoping to make bigger/smaller and see what we can do.

The only way to satisfy the call for larger fonts is a bigger screen in the next generation SV. 1680x1050 in a 16 or 18 inch screen would be nice. I'd make room on my panel for that.

BTW. Thanks for the BLING on the map. Opens a whole new level of experimentation for this winter's project. Now that we have fades, dashes and ticks on the MAP page we could use a bit of BLING on the EMS page. Ford has a nice idea for fuel levels on their digital dash although I'd settle for ticks on the arcs. :)

I'd like to increase the FONT SIZE on airport ID's and the AIRSPACE altitudes (e.g. 7000/1700). Also make the colors of the altitudes differ significantly from the lines outlining the airspace. :D

I haven't done any experimenting yet but if you look at the DFG file it has some interesting possibilities. Just guessing here (text following ; are my comments):

railroad={
color0=505050FF     ; color of railway
color1=505050FF     ; color of tick
color2=00000000
width0=1                 ; width of railway
width1=5                 ; width of tick?
cycle=10                  ; frequency of tick
fraction=0.9             ; something to do with ticks/dashes
outline=0
style=MAP_BLING_DRAW_STYLE_SOLID_UNCLIPPED_TICKS
}

airspace_class_d={
color0=004AB4FF     ; color of outline/text
color1=C0C0C099    ; color between dashes (could be color mask)
color2=0058D6FF     ; color of text outline
width0=3                 ; width of outline
width1=0
cycle=20                  ; frequency of dash
fraction=0.64           ; something to do with ticks/dashes
outline=0
style=MAP_BLING_DRAW_STYLE_DASHED
}

So if you wanted to change colors you can probably do it with the DFG file. I know the dark outline on dark color text is difficult to read.

I spoke with DYNON Tech Supp and learned there's NO way to adjust font sizes by editing BLING in the config file. :'(

Word is they will respond to the request if more users ask. ::)

I don't own any Skyview equipment yet, but I'm planning on it for my project. I'm curious about the consistant requests for larger font sizes. I understand about how the font is a little difficult to read amid the clutter, but when I look at the screenshots (and hardware at Oshkosh) of Skyview and D-100 the difference is obvious. The font on Skyview has thicker lines making up the lettering and has a black surround. The earlier displays use a comparitively thinner stroke lettering with no surround and in my opinion is far superior in clarity. Would it not be wiser to go back to the earlier font rather than making the font larger and taking up more space?

I've already adjusted the colors of the various airspace to suit my preference and love it. now I want to adjust the size and width of each tick to match how it appear on sectionals (aka more ticks and closer together).
Based on the reference below of MOA can you provide guidance on what each one does. (aka which is length versus width, spacing between ticks, etc)

moa={
width0=2
width1=4
cycle=20
fraction=0.2
outline=0

thx
