Hi Forum admins,

I am starting to be bothered by all those spam messages that are coming from "guest" users.

It used to be the only new threads were started by those jerks, but now they are replying to old threads adding their junk to an existing thread, confusing things even further.

Would it be possible to avoid having guest users post messages?

They bother us too! Most of these postings are from automated "bots" that automatically post on any board they can find.

In terms of volume, we really only get a few of these, and we try to nuke them before they've been up for too long.

We could disable guest posting and may do so if the problem gets worse. The downside to that solution is that it then gets a bit harder for the non-techie customer to post a question without going through a registration process.
