Is there any way to correct fuel contents on a taildragger. Obviously, fuel loaded with the tail down is in error in flight, thus contents , fuel remaining are wrong when in flight.
I did the same. On my RV-6, I placed a digital level on the canopy longeron's, raised the tail until I saw level (0.1°!) and then calibrated the tanks.
When completed, I saw a difference of over 3 galls. per tank between level flight (tail raised) and with the tail resting on the ground. Due to the dihedral in the wings, my fuel gauge's max indication is 16 galls. with 19 gallon tanks filled using resistive fuel senders. The difference mentioned above was seen with both tanks only about 75% full.
