Fuel flow reading 0.0 and fuel remaining not decreasing

I have a 1970 A36 with the Skyview HDX in stalled Dec 2023. Everything was working until my last two flights. Two flights ago the fuel flow read 0.0 at idle, but appeared to work normally at cruise. But last flight the fuel flow was 0.0 the entire time AND the flue total remained unchanged at 74gals. I've contacted my installer and he believes the sensor is either failed, jammed, or clogged. Suggests disconnecting the fuel lines from the sensor and making sure no obstructions. I'm going to try this tomorrow and see. He can't look at the plane until next week. Also going to try to contact a different local shop to have them take a look if able. But wanted to ask the group if they have any experience or ideas.

Thanks in advance

From my experience one of the main reasons for the symptoms you are having is probably because the white covered wiring out of the unit was bent over too much. That wire is too stiff & causes too much strain on the sensor components when it is bent over. IF this is the case then the only solution (as it’s unable to be repaired in field) is to buy a new one & use a heat gun on that wire before bending it to the shape you need.

Thanks for the info. I have an appointment next week with the installer to talk a look, per Dynon either the above mentioned wire or the fuel sensor failed. Either way, they claim should be a really quick fix.

Odds are high that this is a wiring problem on the flow sensor, rather than a physical sensor problem. The flow sensors are pretty robust - the wiring, not so much.
