:-/ I have a Rotax 912 ULS.  my installer has positioned the red cube immediately after the filter and before the return line and before both electric and engine driven fuel pump so it is measuring the return fuel as well.It is over reading by 20% His reason was " the flow reading will be constant with the pump on or off". not sure if this was a good idea??  If I adjust the K factor for the 20% over read will this be satisfactory or should the cube be moved to a position after the return valve as recommended in the instructions ??

The short answer is that the return flow WILL be variable, end of story. If adjust 20%, you may get closer, but depending on fuel pump / phase of flight / fuel consumption scenario, your "error" will be variable.

Ideally you want a second return flow sensor, of course. If you're after the return line, that should work too, but, from our understanding there aren't really ideal places to plumb it in forward of the return line (but we're not experts).
