I have the stock Van's capacitive probes in my RV-7 with the Princeton 2 point converters. When I preflight the plane for the first flight each day, the level indicated on the SkyView pretty much exactly matches the amount I measure on my calibrated dip stick.
When I move the airplane at all (even rocking the wings or pushing the plane out of the hangar), the indicated fuel level goes up a bit (1-2 gal per side typically). It also continues to indicate high in flight and won't come down until the plane sits for a bit. It seems like the fuel sloshing around in the tank is making it read high, but I would think everyone would be running into this if that were the case.
Any ideas why this is happening?
