The continued lack of even basic g meter data is quite irritating...  this is critical flight information when learning aerobatics... please get us something ASAP!

I second the request, crucial in the experimental realm. Incredible EFIS system.

We do have this coming in a future software version, though we can't make timing promises yet.

Even us non-acro types would like a G-meter. Add AOA audio, basic engine parameters on the PFD view, timers, weight and balance, AOPA AF/D, IAPs, comm radio, intercom, MP3 player and Video input while your at it.

Until then, SkyView really is pretty good, but is also NOT complete. I am afraid by the time it is complete someone else will have something better.

How about audio alerts (AOA)?

I consider that more important that a g-meter, at least for *initial* flight testing.

Steve, before the aoa will become active you will need to calibrate it with a series of + and - oscillations coupled with stalls in various configurations... likely well into your testing program and after breaking in new cylinders.

Although I tested a landing configuration stall on the first flight, it was used to verify airspeed for approach rather than testing stall characteristics.

I agree that aoa is not very useful without some audio... not really an issue in aerobatics where you will feel a developing stall on the stick and airframe and while your attention is pretty highly focused outside of the cabin.

The aoa might prove useful managing very short landings where you have some audio input while your attention is focused on the landing...

A g-meter will help to develop a feel for 'normal' and 'acceptable' forces in aerobatic recovery; especially with botched maneuvers.

In any case there are several expected features outstanding with the skyview system that have been differed while they focus programming efforts into navigation...

Audio alerts, including ones for AOA, are also currently scheduled for 3.0.

Good move. In Canada I don't have a lot of obstacles in the FAA database but I was demonstrating one that was there on the SV by taking a dive at a tower so that it showed up on the SV. My GPS495 (connected thru my audio) blurted out "Obstacle, pull up, pull up."

That clinched it. While everybody I demonstrate the Skyview to like it, want it, they definitely want me to connect their GPS to their audio so they get audio warnings.

Once 3.0 arrives I can say that the audio is part of the SV not the GPS495. Speaking of that, the GPS495 gives visual warnings of approaching control zones and VNAVs, etc. but no audio. What audio warnings can we expect from SV.
