I thought GPSMAP 196 was enough popular to have a direct setup in SV, unfortunatly not. :(
I tried to configure using x96 config, but i could not make it work. :p
I finished using NMEA with 4800 bauds rate on both SV and Garmin. It seems to work fine.
1) Is my configuration optimal to use full capability of GPSMAP 196 ? (my feeling is we don't use best available refresh rate at 4800 only when x96 config proposes 9600)
2) Could Dynon create a 196 profile in the choice list, so the configuration is optimized and easy ;)

Thanks

So SkyView automatically updates as often as it gets a full set of valid position sentences. Also know that most devices that aren't the SV-GPS-250 only output updates once a second or less (the SkyView SV-GPS-250 updates 5 times per second). So basically, using the generic NMEA at 4800 will give you the best results that SkyView can possibly provide, assuming there are no additional additional settings in the 196 menu that tweaks its output behavior (I don't know of any off the top of my head, but I'm also not too familiar with the model's advanced NMEA options, if there are any)
