I must install the GTN650 from GARMIN with 2  D1000. Looking at the installation manual for GTN650 I see that the pin for GNS430  are not the same and don't even have the same name.
Do you have any GTN650 to SV-ARINC-429 connections ?

Re: GARMIN GTN650 and  D1000 via ARINC429 connecti

We haven't had one in-house yet (it literally got lost in the mail), so this isn't authoritative, but here are the settings I think will work, below, and attached is a diagram. The connections marked as possibly not required I don't think are needed, but it shouldn't hurt anything if you make them anyway. In short, we think that the OBS/etc for the radio side may get sent over just the one ARINC port.

"ARINC 429 Configuration" page
In 1 : High | EFIS Format 2 (or maybe EFIS Format 1 or 3)
In 2 : Unused by SkyView, configure as needed for other equipment
Out : High | GAMA Format 1 (or maybe Gama Format 2 or 3)
              SDI : Common
              VNAV : Enable Labels
"VOR/LOC/GS Congiguration Page
              Nav Radio: Enabled
              ARINC 429 Configuration:
                  Tx Speed: High
                  SDI: Common
              Other Settings: Unused by SkyView
SkyView Settings
   SETUP MENU -> ARINC-429:
              INPUT SPEED: HIGH
              INPUT 1: GPS X
              INPUT 2: NAV X
              OUTPUT SPEED: HIGH

Also, if any/all of you can report back on your findings, particularly on the requirement of the dedicated VOR/ILS ARINC TX to the GTN, and on the EFIS Format and GAMA Format settings, that would be awesome.

Just a quick update here. Garmin changed the way that the GTN talks and listens to other devices in some subtle ways, and so the GTN is a bit buggy with 3.2. The good news here is that we're working on a 3.2.1 that will fix this an a couple of other tiny things.

OK here is an update on my GTN 750 installation after testing.
I previously reported that everything was working fine.
That was premature.
The Gps  course  and GS  ( magenta ) is working fine
With nav src selected for LOC/GS, ( green )  I only get a GS NEEDLE
With no LOC needle. Can i assume this is that subtle problem you mentioned ? :-/

I will check my EFIS and GAMA format settings and report back on my SV and GTN750 installation

There are a few things wrong with the GTN data interface on account of Garmin's changes to the ARINC behavior, but we'll have them fully supported in a maintenance release (3.2.2) which should be out in the next couple of weeks or so. Thanks for your patience.

Bump,

Q1) Busy with wiring, have a GTN 650 via Arinc, is it fixed now in 3.2.2

Q2) and is the wiring as suggested in the top post picture?

Q3) is the serial in PIN 3 on the ARINC module still required?

Thank you in advance,
Rudi

1) Yes

2) Almost, but the latest manuals have the full connections instructions. Download that instead of going by the above.

3) Yes, the serial input is still needed

On your Answer 2) Sorry Online you have Skyview 3.2 Revision I September 2011, it contains nothing about the GTN650. What am I missing or which documentation are you referring to?

Odd. Either we didn't upload the site correctly at 3.2.2, or it was somehow reverted. In any case, refresh that documentation page. You should see it now.
