Is there any advantage to the GTR over the Dynon com besides transmit power (and it's available now)?

A possible downside of the GTR is the need to buy a seperate database subscription (though a one-shot update is only $25 I think).

As much as we like to be helpful, I'm not sure asking us what is better about a competitor's product than ours is going to be fruitful ;)

I can tell you that the Dynon radio takes up less panel space, has a superior user interface, has better integration with the SkyView systems, and costs much less (initial and ongoing) than the Garmin radios. The competition does not have the very cool feature of being able to tune the radio by just pressing "TWR" or "GND".

I happened to take delivery of my Garmin GTR225 about 2 weeks before Dynon announced their comm radio or I would have taken a serious look at it. My panel was already cut for the Garmin. Anyway I don't think you can go wrong with the Dynon or the GTR... as for price the GTR is a few hundred dollars more I paid $1595, it has a builtin intercom etc. So, once you add things up... The GTR and Dynon/Intercom combo are about the same price, and take up the same panel space.
