Found a screaming deal on a Garmin GX50 IFR GPS. I'm wanting to know if anyone has had success getting it to play nice with SkyView? Specifically, I want to be able to fly Rnav approaches, so I need to be able to drive the SV HSI as well as annunciations. Is there any thing else I need to consider with this setup? This wouldn't be primary GPS onboard, as I intend to use Dynon's GPS module for primary. Thanks for any input.

I don't think we have an absolutely positive confirmation, but there's a decent chance it will work. See this thread for an older discussion.

Thanks, I saw this thread. Is there not some way, by looking at the specs, to know for sure if it will work?

The GX50 is RS232 only. No ARINC-429. There is aviation output with a GPSS roll command available on the RS232 interface.
To get ARINC-429 out of this RS232 stream, you need a box like the Garmin DB30.

We do support aviation format, however it does not include any vertical guidance, and we don't support the roll command. You'll see the CDI on the HSI, and some waypoint distance info. The scale of the CDI will also be fixed and won't auto switch in enroute, terminal, and approach modes. The AP can follow this horizontal guidance, but there will be no turn anticipation.
