Is anyone using a Garmin SL50 or SL60 as a nav source with Skyview? I have an SL30 that provides VOR and ILS support, but it looks like the SL50 could provide an enroute GPS source for the Skyview. I've seen a few for sale - they seem to be going pretty cheap. Not sure the availability for database updates, tho. Just wondering if anyone has used them and whether they provide an output compatible with Skyview.

Thanks.

It has what SkyView should understand as "Aviation" format output. That format doesn't have altitude, so, you'll definitely need another GPS source in the system that does have altitude like the SV-GPS-250 for some core functions like the map and synvis to work properly. But you should be able to get the course information from the GPS over to SkyView's HSI. I don't know that we've had anyone test it, but I think it ought to work.
