Gear Up Warning

Would it be possible to incorporate a gear up warning into the EFIS units.
The warning, audible tone/voice alert " Gear Not Down", could be activated when the airspeed is below a predetermined value and the gear is not down (one of the GP inputs).
I have considered doing this externally using a small micro to strip the airspeed from the serial data logging stream (Data logging needs to be on) or the DSAB (packet structure and hardware protocol not published), however I believe it could be incorporated into the existing hardware with a software upgrade making my life much easier :)
Regards,
Wayne

I started searching the forums to find an answer to this exact question... surprised there is no response!

We do read all suggestions here, and they all end up on feature idea lists that we review and consider and prioritize when planning each firmware release, but we don't always comment on every suggestion. Currently, such a feature isn't on the "short list" for development.

Somewhere along the way there was a posting describing how you could connect two sensors in series (ie airspeed switch & landing gear position switch) to a skyview GP input, such that when both are closed it activates the warning.

If you already have these switches installed, and are using them for something else, you'd probably have to wire them to multi-pole relays so they don't interfere with each other or other functions, but easily done none the less. I would suspect this is probably easier than the programming & configuration required to support such a function in skyview. A flap warning could be set up the same way.

Happy flying!
