I am installing a Skyview and must move my GPS antenna. I find very little guidance in the installation manual, what should I watch out for in selecting a new mounting location?

What are you flying Don? In my RV-6 a great location is under the cowl just forward of the firewall. The cowl is fiberglass and it works perfect under there. I don't see it at all and it is protected.

GPS needs a clear view of the sky- it will work through Fiberglass but not aluminum.
So you're options are either under the windscreen or under a fiberglass piece.

I am building an RV12, modified to run a Viking engine. The engine sits so far back to the firewall, there is little room there. I guess it is either somewhere else under the cowling or on the windscreen. I think I can move it to one side of the engine OK.
