GTN series ARINC-429 - ADAHRS data?

It looks like GTN navigators can auto sequence altitude-based and heading-based legs, if they receive heading, airspeed, and altitude data through the ARINC interface.  Reference GTN 6xx/7xx AML STC installation manual rev. 4, sections 2.4.2.2 and 2.4.2.3.

Does SkyView support this?  Thanks for your time, and happy 4th!

I've got a GTN650. I couldn't get the GPS from it on the HSI source. Called Dynon and they said I had to inactivate sequencing to see it. Now I can select the Garmin GPS as a source on my HSI but will not get the auto sequencing. I hope they can fix this.

We send altitude and heading to the GTN via ARINC. This has been tested on approaches with altitude and heading sequences and it works.

I think we didn't serve you well with our support. You can use auto sequencing, and should. The difference is that with auto sequencing, the GTN now controls what is shown on the HSI, not the HSI SRC in SkyView. You need to go into "default nav" in the GTN and press the CDI soft-key. This will switch what is shown on SkyView. This way the GTN can command us to switch when it wants us to as well. The source for the CDI us always shown at the bottom of the GTN as "VLOC" or "GPS".

Thanks. Do I keep the ARINC setting checked to not use sequencing? I believe this is what support had me change to get the Garmin GPS in the source list.

You should check the auto sequence option. Without this we ignore any requests from the GTN to switch from GPS to VLOC.

On the other hand, if you enable auto sequencing you no longer can select VOR on the HSI when on a GPS flight path without punching buttons on the 650.
I ended up with auto sequencing turned off.

Does this also apply when SkyView is connected to the GNS-430W. I am upgrading to the SkyView and will be removing the blind encoder that was providing gray code altitude to the 430W. Will this now be provided thru the SkyView to 429 interface?

Yes, altitude should make it over the ARINC-429 interface from SkyView.
