What ever happened to the guide Dynon authored for creating your own custom sensor definitions? Seems to me that would still be a very handy document to have, even just for general principles.

No, not everything. For instance, I'm not wiring a temp sensor, and that only addresses some input pins. So, I'm guessing the original document no longer exists.

Clever! Our wiki went down for a variety of technical and content (a LOT of it was stale), but there a few bits of information - like this - that we ought to resurrect in a different form.

This is the direct link to the article in the help center. The help center is a work in progress and is part of our support ticketing system. I currently have a push underway to put more content in there, but it's a time consuming task.
I did archive the EMS sensor definitions article in there when the wiki went away.
